I have been collecting rocks as long as I can remember.
My fascination began as a young girl. On my travels around the world they speak to me! They then live with me at home. It wasn’t until the last 10 years or so that I began to use them in my healing practices. Being told in a number of different trainings that they have been around as long as time and hold the blueprint of the world within them!
The wisdom of our ancestors and our ancestors’ ancestors!
The first historical references to the use of rocks as medicine, spirit, healing and the sacred come from the Ancient Sumerians (4th millennium BC), who included them in their magic formulas. Rocks/crystals were (and are) used for healing in traditional Chinese Medicine. Writings also mention that they were used for transcendence, to symbolize purity, faith and perfection.
As Indigenous peoples studied rocks, they learned that when rocks wear down or erode, the minerals within the rocks are absorbed by plants and animals. In this way, minerals become part of the ‘circle of life’ or life cycle, and contribute to the well-being and balance of nature all around us. In Japan they have an art, “Suiseki” the art of stone appreciation. The stones represent mountains, waterfalls and other natural scenes.
The art of Suiseki involves the collection, process, preparation of the stone and appreciation.
According to shamanic traditions, when we accept a Sacred Stone into our lives, it is our duty to give thanks to the Divine Light, to the Great Mother, and to our ancestors who teach us how to live with these Beings of Light, and to raise our consciousness so we can act as Caretakers of the Ways of Spirit.
Worldwide, crystals and stones have been considered “Beings of Light”, Spiritual Allies from Higher Worlds composed of solidified highfrequency light waves. They have been around for millennium thus they hold the blueprint of the universe!
I am so enamored of rocks, stones and crystals and the healing energies they hold, share, send, give…working in the field of energy medicine, based on ancient traditions feels so right to me. A few years ago I saw my first wrapped rock and it brought me the deepest sense of peace and joy. Thus began my practice or wrapping them. I infuse each rock with spirit, reiki, healing energy and love. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
May it serve you well and when it is ready to move on, just allow.
